Whose House Is It?

Everything that you have, everything that you own, everything that makes you who you are, every molecule of DNA, comes from the Lord. As we teach and lead the people who attend New Beginnings Church through this ministry model called "Family Ministry", it seems so foreign, so crazy, so hard to ask from parents to buy in to the process. Is the task too overwhelming?

I borrowed this quote from Sankie Lynch's blog from this past Tuesday. I placed in BOLD what stood out to me in the quote, see below.

 A Summary of Family Ministry

“In the space of a couple of centuries, the generations have drifted so far apart that recalibrating an entire congregation to engage in family ministry appears radical, perhaps even impossible. The majority of parents have handed over the task of discipling their children to professional ministers. Churches have constructed entire ministry models on foundations that strain family structures instead of drawing family members together.” TPJ Foundations of Family Ministry, 50.

What seems to be impossible to man, is not impossible with God. But IF you do not allow God to help you, to lead the way, to watch over you in the process, it may prove to be impossible for you. Check out verse 1 of Psalm 127 below.

 Psalm 127  The Blessing of the Lord

A Solomonic song of ascents.

Unless the Lord builds a house,
its builders labor over it in vain;
unless the Lord watches over a city,
the watchman stays alert in vain.

Have you invited the Lord to build your house? Have you invited the Lord to watch over your family? Maybe He is just waiting for you to ask.
