Which disease is more fatal for your family?

You can't turn on the TV lately without hearing about the deadly Ebola virus in West Africa and now the first case found recently in America. How does the thought of a deadly disease on our own soil in America make you feel? Anxious? Worried? Afraid?

I would pose a question to the reader. Which disease right now is more fatal to you and your family? The physical disease of Ebola, keeping in mind that currently there is only one case found in America or the disease of Pornography, which is affecting massive amounts of individuals and families across this country. Why aren't we more worried, more anxious, more afraid of this disease?

The following information in quotes below were taken from CovenantEyes.com

"It's depressing, but it's true: 90% of boys and 60% of girls are exposed to porn before age 18...and if the parents don't catch it early, online exposure to porn can lead to addiction and a whole host of other physical and emotional health problems."

"46% of regular porn users are married."

"Fathers: Porn use is linked to infidelity, higher risk of separation, decreased sexual satisfaction and marital intimacy."

"Mothers: When a man uses porn he is more likely to abuse his wife/girlfriend. When their abuser used both alcohol and pornography the odds of sexual abuse increase by a factor of 3.2."

"Sons: Adolescents exposed to porn are more likely to have multiple lifetime sexual partners. 35% of boys said they viewed pornographic videos "too many times to count." In 2011, 44% teens have lied about their age when online."

"Daughters: Porn consumed at a young age makes women view sexual aggression as a romantic event."

"Families: 84% of those who were involved in a romantic relationship said their partner did not know about the porn on their cell phone. In 2012, 68% of the divorces involved one party meeting a new lover over the internet."

What IF Parents became the "Center for Disease Control" of their family? The first thing you would do is to prevent the disease from infecting yourselves as parents, right? You are no help to your children if you are infected. In fact, you may pass it along to them without you even knowing you did.

The next thing you would do is you would educate your family how to prevent each of them from coming into contact with this disease. But what if they have been in contact with the disease? You would educate them on getting to a doctor as fast as possible to get the help they would need. The only doctor who can help with this spiritual disease is Jesus Christ.

How are you protecting yourself and your family from this fatal spiritual disease?

1 Thessalonians 4:3  "It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;"
