A Vision for NBFamilies.

One of the hardest parts about getting older is losing the clear focus of your vision. Glasses and contacts are a hassle but if wearing them brings you vision into focus then it is worth it.

Maintaining a clear focus of your vision is vital for NBFamilies. This blog articulate our vision.

God has called parents to serve as primary
disciple-makers in their children’s lives.

What was once called the “nuclear family” in North America has morphed into several new, non-traditional, types of families, fragmented families, single-parent families, blended families and beyond.

The television shows: Ozzie and Harriet, Father Knows, and Leave It To Beaver have been altered into American Family, Modern Family and the New Normal. The reality is that there is no perfect family. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a perfect family.

But we don’t have to be pessimistic about the future. God’s Word can provide a map for every type of family. God promised us that He breathed out His word for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

God provides for every kind of family the ability and insight to make wise and discerning choices to succeed in this broken world. It is important for all families not to become discouraged and lose heart. There is this encouraging promise:
"We must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith."
(Galatians 6:9-10). New Beginnings Church, pray that we will realize the following – God inspired – vision.
  • We dream of becoming a church that develops, sustains, and integrates a discipleship strategy that combines the relationships and influences of both the church and the home.
    1. Reach Up! -> We want to lead people to Jesus. This is our highest form of worship! We want to set Jesus above every other priority in life. We want to discover worship as a lifestyle (a life where genuine prayer, sincere bible influence, and stewardship are the normal experience). We want to become lifestyle worshippers, including Sunday Mornings, who regularly identify and experience God’s presence. We want to regularly identify and experience what is means to know just how real, how evident, how present, how tangible and obvious is God.
    2. Reach In! -> We want to connect people in an authentic, redemptive, missional community. We call our small group communities D-Groups (D=Discipleship). We want to make certain so that no one stands alone. Spiritual growth is most likely to occur in community. We want to everyone to belong in a discipleship relationship. We want to assure that everybody grows in their faith
    3. Reach Out -> We want to replicate the saving, redeeming, gospel centered message work of God in the world! We want all disciples to discover or rediscover their calling as ministers and missionaries. We want to lead disciples to discover how to serve the Lord in their unique giftedness. We want to find genuine meaning and fulfillment through serving in our giftedness.
  • We dream of becoming a church that is fully devoted to reframing the family into a healthy, growing, safe, and kingdom minded, gospel driven, family unit.
  • We dream of becoming a church which equips families to lift up one another as fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • We dream of becoming a church that understands and invests in biblical discipleship!
  • We dream of becoming a church that effectively passes our faith in Christ to the next generation so they can reach the nations with the gospel.
NBFamilies is the process of intentionally and persistently realigning New Beginnings Church’s proclamation and practices so that parents (two parents, single parents, blended family parents, grandparents, etc.) are knowledgeable, trained, engaged, and held accountable as the primary persons responsible for the discipleship of their children.

Will you catch the vision? Will you join us in this journey?
